First Rob Henry Memorial PhD Scholarship Awarded

On 24th September 2018, Australian Rotary Health Chairman Greg Ross awarded the first Rob Henry Memorial PhD Scholarship, named in honour of the late Past President Rob Henry of the Rotary Club of Boronia, to Jake Mazur.

Jake, from Ferntree Gully, studies at the Centre for Molecular and Medical Research at Deakin University, Waurn Ponds campus.  The subject of his study is:  ‘Natural therapeutics coupled with nanotechnology; advancing GBM treatment efficiency in invertebrate and cellular models’  Further details can be found at: https://australianrotaryhealth.org.au/jake-mazur/.

Val Henry and son Luke, who attended the presentation of the award, noted that Jake is a remarkable young man who is a perfect recipient, and that they were very proud to see Rob’s memory live on through Jake who was very humble in accepting the scholarship.
