For more than 35 years the Rotary Club of Boronia, in conjunction with District 9810, has conducted bike rides around the Victorian countryside, raising funds in support of Australian Rotary Health. Australian Rotary Health is a national, not-for-profit organisation which funds health research and provides community education about health in Australia. Supported by Australian Rotary Clubs, the organisation supports work on a broad range of health problems but specialises in mental health.
In 2021, the usual Ride for Medical Research was replaced with the ‘do-it-yourself’ Mad March Cycle Challenge due to restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. The ‘on-the-road’ event returned in 2022 and, and together with a repeat of the ‘do-it-yourself’ event, raised more than $32,000 in support of Australian Rotary Health.
In 2023, we will again be conducting two separate events:
“Bendigo Gold Tour”, the usual ‘on-the-road’ Ride for Medical Research will be conducted from Sunday, 19th to Friday, 24th March and will explore Bendigo and the surrounding areas; and
- “Mad March Cycle Challenge”, the free to join ‘do-it-yourself’ event will enable you to participate throughout the month of March, riding (or doing other activities) at your discretion.
Further details are available at “Bendigo Gold Tour” and “Mad March Cycle Challenge” respectively.
If you are unable to participate yourself, please sponsor someone who has made the commitment via the above links. All donations support Australian Rotary Health (and donations of $2 or more are tax deductable).
