For more than 35 years the Rotary Club of Boronia, in conjunction with District 9810, has conduced a bike ride around the Victorian countryside, raising funds in support of Australian Rotary Health. Australian Rotary Health is a national, not-for-profit organisation which funds health research and provides community education about health in Australia. Supported by Australian Rotary Clubs, the organisation supports work on a broad range of health problems, but specialises in mental health.
In 2021, the usual Ride for Medical Research was replaced with a ‘do-it-yourself’ event due to restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, we are conducting two separate events:
- “Kelly Country Encounters“, the usual ‘on-the-road’ event; and
- “Mad March Cycle Challenge“, a repeat of the 2021 ‘do-it-yourself’ event.
