2022 Ride for Medical Research – “Kelly Country Encounters”

The Rotary Club of Boronia is continuing its long-term involvement with this annual bicycle ride fundraising event in support of Australian Rotary Health, which has now been conducted for more than 35 years.  Australian Rotary Health is a national, not-for-profit organisation which funds health research and provides community education about health in Australia.  Supported by Australian Rotary Clubs, the organisation supports work on a broad range of health problems, but specialises in mental health.

In 2021, the usual Ride for Medical Research was replaced with a ‘do-it-yourself’ event due to restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.  In 2022, we are conducting two separate events:

  • Kelly Country Encounters“, the usual ‘on-the-road’ event; and
  • Mad March Cycle Challenge“, a repeat of the 2021 ‘do-it-yourself’ event.

“Kelly Country Encounters” will be conducted from Sunday, 6th March to Friday, 11th March 2022.  The planned route is centred around Wangaratta, with daily rides radiating from this central location.  The route will take in sights including the North East Victoria Silo Art Trail and will pass through places including Benalla, Rutherglen, Beechworth and the King Valley.

For further details, refer to the attached brochure or visit the “Ride for Medical Research” website.  Information about the “Mad March Cycle Challenge” can be found here.
