Each year since the centenary of ANZAC Day in 2015,1 the Rotary Club of Boronia has conducted an annual ANZAC Day commemoration service for schools. The 2021 service was attended by 425 students from twelve local schools, who listened intently to Guest Speaker, Billy Schroeder, a Boronia local, Vice President of the Boronia RSL and a veteran of service in East Timor and Iraq, who spoke with passion about why he became a soldier.
The 2022 event will again be held at the Tim Neville Arboretum, with a ceremony commencing at 11:30am on Thursday, 7th April.
The service will again feature a Guest Speaker (yet to be announced). Music will be provided by the St Joseph’s College Stage Band and the St Joseph’s Primary School Choir will provide choral support.
Local primary schools will be invited to participate. Any other interested persons are welcome to attend.
