Club’s 2022/23 achievements recognised by District Award

At the Rotary District 9810 Changeover event on 1 July 2023, Rotary Club of Boronia outgoing President John Poke was presented with a District Governor’s Citation which recognised the Club as an “Outstanding Rotary Club in 2022-2023” for its performance in respect of Club Projects, Club Building, and Club Public Relations and Communication.

Project activities that contributed to this recognition included: support of Different Journeys, an organisation that supports the Autistic Community; ongoing support of Knox Infolink, which provides support to the needy in our local community; activity as a participant and in support of the Knox Community Gardens; distribution of plants produced by Knoxbrooke, a local disability service provider, amongst the community; successful completion of the “Knox Rocks” youth music therapy pilot project, an initiative aimed at personal empowerment through the medium of music.

Our Club membership was increased by almost forty percent during 2022/23.  New members are supported by a mentoring program, which is subject to ongoing development, and are encouraged to actively participate in the work of the Club.

Club activities are promoted publicly through both our Facebook page and this website.  Our weekly Bulletin (internal document) provides a mechanism through which our members are kept well informed.
