Our Plans for this Rotary Year

Our plans/objectives for each Avenue of Service in 2023/24 are summarised as follows:

Club Service
Focuses on strengthening our Club through membership growth and retention and effective administration.

Membership and Wellbeing – continue with the existing recruitment programs whilst also exploring additional recruitment ideas.  Provide an intensive monitoring and reporting program to ensure the wellbeing of all members.

Public Image – maintain and further develop existing public image operations such as the website and Facebook page; explore opportunities to enhance the use of these promotional avenues for the benefit of the Club.  Investigate and implement other ways for promoting/improving the public image of the Club.

Fundraising and Entrepreneurial Development – maintain existing fundraising activities such as the Golf Day, Bunnings’ BBQs, wine auction etc, and where possible expand on each of these.  Identify, develop and implement new regular fundraising initiatives to support our service activities.  Investigate and establish large entrepreneurial projects that will provide regular ongoing income to the Club.

The Rotary Foundation – educate Club members (and others where appropriate) on the workings of The Rotary Foundation and the benefits of contributing to the Fund.  Encourage Club members and others to contribute to The Rotary Foundation through one or more of the available mechanisms.  Engender support for the Polio Plus program (for Polio eradication).  Access grants funded by The Rotary Foundation where applicable.

Community Service and Environment
Community Service – covers the projects and activities the Club undertakes to improve the quality of life for people in our community and to serve the public interest.

Maintain existing community service and environmental projects such as supporting Knox Infolink and Different Journeys.  Determine if such programs can be enhanced or duplicated and take action accordingly.

Liaise with the Youth and Vocational Service Committee to develop community service and environment programs within local schools.

Investigate and implement new community service and environmental programs.

Liaise closely with Knox City Council.

International Service
Exemplifies our global reach in promoting peace and understanding.  We support this avenue of service by sponsoring or volunteering on international projects, seeking partners abroad, and more.

Maintain existing international projects such as those being implemented in Fiji.  Determine if such programs can be enhanced or duplicated and take action accordingly.

Investigate and implement other international projects sourced or identified through Rotary International and elsewhere, with a particular focus on Sri Lanka.

Establish “Sister Club” relationships with overseas Rotary Clubs (in addition to that established with the Rotary Club of Taveuni Island).

Youth and Vocational Service
Youth Service – recognises the importance of empowering youth and young professionals through leadership development programs and other support.
Vocational Service – calls on every Rotarian to work with integrity and contribute their expertise to the problems and needs of society.

Maintain and enhance existing activities in relation to youth programs; explore and implement as many Rotary programs as are deemed appropriate.

Enhance current relations with Rotaract groups.

Explore and expand relationships with schools in our area.

Investigate vocational experiences based around existing members and business contacts in our area.
